IMPORTANT UPDATE
As of 4 November 2024 we are no longer able to accept requests for vouchers. Any vouchers you have must be spent by 31 January 2025, after which time they will no longer be valid.
Our Purpose
We do not believe that anybody, whatever their circumstances, should have to choose between feeding themselves, feeding people who depend on them, and staying warm.
We exist to provide meals to people facing exactly these difficult choices.
How?
We give partner agencies vouchers which they can provide to their users. For example, a school can give them to parents or pupils, food banks to their clients, etc. People then use those vouchers to pay for a meal at a local provider – currently we are working with The Five Bells on The Cross – and we will reimburse them.
What happens to people’s information?
Nothing. We don’t ask for any information. The partners give out the vouchers, the providers cash them in. The only information we get back is the number on the voucher, which we use to understand which partners are giving out most vouchers. We never ask for names, emails or any other personal information, and neither will the meal providers.
Where does the money come from?
We work with government, large charities, private businesses and individual donors to raise money.
We are immensely grateful to…
Eastry Parish Council | |
Select Technology – Your Lifetime IT Partner
Church in Society – Sandwich Deanery
Steve Manion Effective Training |
We thank them all for their kindness and generosity.
We have also benefited from private donations and while we obviously do not list people’s names on our website, we are very grateful for their kind support.
How much does it cost?
For the people taking the meals it costs nothing. To keep costs down we limit the offer to one main course plus a soft or hot drink for adults, and for children one ‘full menu’ (main, drink and dessert).
The costs to us are variable but roughly every £100 raised funds 16 meals.
